I do the same with Riaanond, and see it is first meal time there already. I will call Shaddak after my parents.
I spend the rest of the arn waiting excitedly for Lirak and wondering whether I can keep a straight and serious face when I lead Trannak to his family? |

Lirak grins when he sees your excited look and the way your smile tries to fill the room.
"I expect you are glad to be seeing your husband and daughter again" he suggests, to which you nod and giggle just a bit "That's good. I'm sure they are both just as glad to be seeing you when you arrive as well. I look forward to seeing the Captain's reaction to his own parents being there".
"As do I" you reply, nodding, as Lirak seats himself in the copilot's chair - you bring up a quick staus report for the ship on his HUD as well as a list of the ships you have seen and identified.
"Good" Lirak says "The ship is in good order - and you have been practicing your skills as well, also good. You can stay on shift with me if you like, captain - but I suggest you get at least some sleep before we arrive at Tal IV".
I must be ready and rested when I call Trannak, you tell yourself - so after waving to Lirak, you head back to the captian's quarters...

My grin from the anticipation of Trannak seeing his family, is no closer to diminishing, and I let out an excited, childish squeal and race up the walls, using them and the ceiling to reach my quarters again.
(When I reach a security camera, I beam at it and wave, wondering if Lirak is watching).
I stay on the ceiling as I enter my room, and run right over to a position above the bed, and let myself drop onto it from the ceiling.
It makes an unhealthy creak, but I decide if they are strong enough to hold recreating Scarrans, then it can hold me falling onto it.
Looking up at the ceiling, I giggle again, hugging myself as if Trannak were in my arms.
Right now, I could not give a frell if his family accept us - just so long as I have Trannak.
I sling my beret across the room, vaguely aiming for a chair, although it flies past it and lands on the floor, and unclip my equipment where I lay, and wriggle free from it.

You smile at the thought of Amra rushing towards you and jumping into your arms as she always does, and grin at the prospect of Trannak lifting you up for a long and deep kiss. With those thoughts in your head, you eventually drop off to sleep...
Clouds part and you see...
"Mama coming in from doc-tor place soon, dada?" a young Feltano asks - much like Amara asks questions now "Want to know that mama all good".
"Nice doctor always good to mama, Fel-tano" Amara tells her brother, turning to look at him and grin "He make sure mama all good. You not worry, nice small brother".
Feltano gives Amara a hug and a smile, and Trannak rumbles happily as he watches them - then the two of them look at each other, grin, and scramble over to jump on him, making him laugh loudly and happily as he plays with the pair of them and tickles them each a bit too.
Both stop immediately when the doorbell rings. Trannak makes sure the two children stay on the bed and goes to open the door - then you see yourself come in holding a small bundle wrapped in cloth.
"Come close, my two dear children" your older self says with much love "Come here and see your new baby sister...".
They both come over to you with great excitement - and when they lean over a bit to see, both of them coo in awe at almost the same moment.
"New sis-ta all slee-pee, mama" Feltano says "She not want to look at me or 'Mara?"
"She is very tired from coming out to be in our world" you tell them both "She will rest a bit and then she will look around, I am sure - and I am sure she will love to see you both, and your dada as well. She is called Maranno, after your orange grandma".
Right then, your parents both come in - and Feltano proceeds to tell them about tiny Maranno with excitement as if neither of them had known a thing about her until now. The tiny girl in your arms opens her eyes and looks around, just as you thought she would - when she looks at Feltano she gurgles happily and reaches out for him.
"She cannot see you in detail, dear Feltano" you explain "Let her touch your face a bit so she can find out something about you. You did that with all of us, you know...".
He loves it when Maranno does that and talks to her softly, even stroking her very tiny ridges - she loves that and giggles a bit, after which you suggest "I think your dada should hold her a bit, you know - and I need to rest a bit anyway...".
Once Trannak takes hold of his newest child, you lie back on the big bed, smiling when your other two children crawl up beside you and rest their head against you...
When that happens, you wake up - there is barely fifteen momens before scheduled arrival insystem at Tal IV now...

Your ship passes the outer system marker satellites without tripping any alarms, even though the cloaking shield is not yet on.
"Cloaking shield on..." you announce, flipping the special switch for it and changing the ship internal lights to a dim red-orange "...and functioning".
"Nothing registering on passive sensiors at this range" Trannak adds "The base must not have any Prowlers up on patrol, nor a supply flight insystem".
"I do jnot know their supply schedule" you reply, shrugging "They may be able to provide some things locally, but much of what they will need will have to be brought in from outside".
Just as you finish saying that, a much larger ship than your own flies past and heads directly for low orbit over Watrukaria - it is not a design you are familiar with, and mass readings suggest a frigate-class vessel. Several objects detach themselves fom the ship and head towards what you assume is the outpost below (or at least its landing area, you decide), after which this new ship turns to head outsystem again. Trannak has the sensor suite recording everything it can about this ship and tells you "We will see if we can identify it when we get back to the Havioc after our mission, Caseya - maybe I will see if any of the old Hierarchy sources inside Sebacean space can do that for us. Properly encouraged by a few crindars, of course".

"Best keep a steady pace until we are sure they didn't notice us." Trannak suggests.
"Already done." I reply.
As we fly relatively slowly on, I smile and muse "Amara did well to receive that message from so far away."
"She did. Very well. She is stronger than we thought."
I nod again. "She could help me and Talannah talk to the sender too. I...was surprised that Talannah did not object to that. I thought she was wary of mentalists?"
"Perhaps a little... but Amara is different, she is one of us, and Talannah is very protective of her. She wouldn't want Amara to see any doubt in her."
A very Scarran way, I decide as we head lower through the system.

The frigate heads back the way you came, probably to its Command Carrier - its sensor scan does pass across you but you get not so much as a twitch of interest directed your way.
You come close to atmosphere - and can pick up the edge of base internal comms. Much of it is exactly what you expect to hear, mixed with relief at the new supplies and curiosity about a few rumours they have heard. Meeral is still there, and you hear him quieten the people down before urging them not to be so free with their words over the comms.
You giggle a bit while Trannak works out the next leg of the course. No obvious talk of thier being continued occupation of the old Scarran base here, for which you're glad of right now...although perhaps the Hand might find it useful? Maybe we can ask Kran about that later...
"Course set, love" Trannak says softly, startling you a bit - you look over at him and smile before locking that in and setting the autopilot.

"I suggest a little rest before weapons and equipment checks." I add. "I will alert you half an arn before arrival."
I turn the PA off and lean back in my chair, running my hand over the smooth rim of the console. My ship.
Trannak watches and smiles. "Come. I think we should have some rest too."
I nod. "Chen'aia... Home of Charrids." I pull a face of disgust and Trannak laughs.
"We will be in and out before they know what has hit them."
He wraps an arm around me and leads me toward our quarters. "You are a little tense. I'll knead those knots out of your shoulders." he says.
"That will be nice." I reply with a light kiss.

Trannak gets out of his chair and walks around behind yours before resting his hands on your shoulders and starting his massage - you just lie back in your chair and sigh in contentment. Trannak is so good at this, you remind yourself happily, and you wonder where he learned this particular skill. You suspoect his father had something to do with it - he is more artful than most of his species and would see how what most would consider a leisure-oriented skill would be useful to learn.
You are glad Trannak knows it anyway, especially since he loves to use that skill to please you with - everyone else seems to be sleeping again or preparing their equipment.

I sigh again, glad to be here with Trannak and hear his breaths. We sit in a comfortable silence, both of us just resting and closing our eyes.
Coming here to Chen'aia does not seem so daunting with Trannak here beside me. That brings a smile to my face and another happy sigh.
Trannak stretches his arms and back and leans into his seat, rumbling contentedly.
Soon very soft snores are emmanating from his chair, and I smile to myself and allow myself to drift into sleep.

You do not dream straight away... but after a while you start to see images of children playing, some of whom you recognise but a number of whom you do not. Closer inspection shows they are most likely Troll and Urana's children, but one is clearly Talian and he looks so happy to be playing with other children like him. He is a lot bigger here than when you know him, taking after his Scarran side strongly in the physical - but he loves his friends here and likes to see them happy around him as well.
He runs over to you and Trannak and beams at you, asking "Fel-ta-no all good? He happy? Tiny 'Ra-nno all good too?"
"I all good, nice Ta-lian" Feltano replies with an excited squeak and a nod "I not seen you in longlong tyme an' it good you come to pee tee arr 'gain an' see us".
Feltano gets a hug from Talian for that and a rumble as well - Feltano responds to that with a rumble of his own, after which both boys burst out laughing. Harek and Anton and Troll's girls all come over as well - all of them are large, but Harek is massive for such a young boy and the girls are not that much smaller for their age either.
Maranno wakes up and stares at those around her - she is a little uneasy at first and whimpers and coos a bit until she sees Feltano and Amara and smiles instead.
"See?" Feltano tells her happily "They all your frends! They all love you lots too!" The middle of Troll's three girls, Tabitha, comes closer to look at Maranno - she looks at your youbngest closely and strokes her tiny ridges, giggling when Maranno lets out a very tiny rumble...

Maranno wriggles in my arms and looksup at Tabitha and at me.
I smile and kiss her nose, getting a sweet giggle from my youngest child.
Amara clapsand pointsthat out to Feltano, and he looks too.
"You smile just like your dada, my son." I tell him, seeing the resemblence very clearly indeed. He even has Trannak's deep green eyes.

"Heeheehee!" Feltano shrieks "Sis-ta 'Mara give me tik-lees!"
Tabitha looks as well, and she giggles along with Amara and you - she looks for a few microts, then runs back to her sisters and tells them about it. Both of them come back with her and laugh happily as they see Amara and Feltano play - and although Sherenka seems to be the biggest one of the three by just a small margin, she does have a fairly quick mind and says "Fel-ta-no look like his dada - he all greengreen in eye-zees".
"He is and he does" you tell Sherenka "People who are even a bit Kalish often have green eyes, but Feltano's dada has green eyes as well and he is a Scarran. Being a bit Scarran is why Amara, Feltano, and you and your sisters have the scaled skin and the ridges you have".
Sherenka looks at her sisters and herself for some microts before nodding and saying "That all good an' I like it 'cause it meen I like mama".
"It meen we like mama too!" Martha says, the youngest of the three (though she is about the same size as Tabitha) "Like that lots!" before she grins in a way you know is just like Troll. The three of them race back to Urana where they start rolling around and play-fighting while their own parents watch them carefully.
Talian comes over to you with his parents, and holds out his arms for a hug when he sees you. He is a huge size even for a half-Scarran changed child, but you smile at the love for and trust in you he shows and give him the hug he clearly wants. That makes you feel more relieved - and proud. Any other vessel would take two days or more to travel this distance but I have the best technology in a ship built by my own people and can do it in even less time that Organisation archives report a Leviathan capable of.
You pass the time schedule on to the others - the General and his group are stunned that your ship is so fast, but Harrigan just tells him "Secret!" when quizzed.
"You must maintain your edge, I understand that" General Sarn says "It's nice to not have to wait two days, I must say".
"Eron is sleeping" the General's son tells you "He likes it in this ship - but he's exhausted from the past few days as well".
""Let him sleep" Kesha tells the General "He needs it, it will be good for him".
With that settled, you lean back in your seat again and rest. No more grangacha for now, you decide - it is well-lkept and I want to make it last a while...

I smile across at Trannak, who smiles back sleepily before closing his eyes again. He looks so handsome asleep, I think to myself. Our son will take after him in that respect, I am sure, and so long as he takes after him in manner too, I will be happy.
I get a nervous/excited chill at the thought and try to imagine what our future will be like. It is strange that I almost have Dureena to thank for bringing Trannak and I so close together. I wonder where she isnow? Suffering, I hope. Feeling degraded and put upon and undervalued. Shewould hate that.

You watch the star map until your ship is clearly shown outside the Watrukaria system and well on the way to Tal IV. Good, you decide, it will not be a long time now before we reach the Havoc again and see all the familiar sights there. The General and his son and his two escorts will love having good quarters to sleep in and plentiful food to wake up to as well, I am sure.
You doze off after that, only really noticing the ship bank slightly at one point...
