| | Various "In-Game" Rules! « Thread Started on Oct 25, 2003, 10:50pm » | |
1. Players that cheat, don't respect the rules, don't respect other players and GM's will not be allowed to continue playing.
2. Players who's goal is to simply kill or in other ways ruin the game for other players (without their being a game-plot reason for doing so) will not be allowed to continue playing.
3. In all the "In-Game" boards/threads it is only permitted to post "In character" (IC)! All "Out of character" (OOC) discussions or other posting is to be done in the "Out of character" catagory at the bottom of the forum. The only exception is the "Leaving to (thread url)" and "Arriving from (thread url) lines written at the bottom of posts when leaving or arriving to/from a nother thread or board.
4. The GM's word is law! If you want to complain or discuss a GM's playing/rulings do so in the OOC area!!!

5. When posting an "In Game" post/reply, ALWAYS do so by clicking the Quote button of the post you are reacting/responding to!
This helps everybody to know who the character is interacting with! This aplies when acting on a post made by one self also.
in short: ALWAYS QUOTE THE POST YOU ARE REPLYING TO!!!

6. When traveling through catagories, a obligatory landing must be done at the first board in your traveling direction!
Example:
Jay is leaving "The Belt colony" in PK space. His destination is "Miclatze" in Scarran space. Jay must land at "Riaanond" wich is the first location in Neutral space. Jay must make at least two actions (Posts) before leaving. (Giving the GM a chance to interact with Jay). After leaving Jay must also land at Che'naia which is the first location in Scarran space, and yet again make at least two actions (posts) before being able to leave for Miclatze.
Two posts in a row without a player or GM post in between DOES NOT COUNT!!!
If Jay leaves Miclatze to go back to the Belt colony he would have to land at Watrukaria and enter into the Dacon's sensor range.
NOTE! Entering into space occupied by a ship (Reana or Dacon) you can not land without asking for permission to do so. You must enter the board in the "Sensor range" thread and post your intentions! EDIT (added by Sponge) : If you enter a planet in the neutral section which has the thread 'Cry Havoc's sensor range' in it, you must follow that thread's directions and ask for permission to move on before actually doing so, as you would with the other ships.

8. Leaving or entering a board! (planet, ship, moon etc)
To leave a board, your character first have to travel to the thread that says (Board jump to/from here). When your character have to make at least 2 posts at that thread before being able to leave! This is so GM's and other players have a chance to respond to that characters actions.
The same goes for arriving at a board. At least 2 posts before leaving the (board jump to/from here) thread.
Two posts in a row without a player or GM post in between DOES NOT COUNT!!!

9. If you feel you want an additional location at any board, then you have to request it to a GM! Players are NOT allowed to create locations of their own. They can however make up places within a thread (Jimmy's steakhose, Bubbas massage institute etc ) but not create new threads.
Make the request in the "Q and S" board!

NEW SIG. RULE!
Profile pages will be created by a moderator (most likely Bekka) for ALL characters. Inventory, skills, stats etc. will be on that profile page (sheet).
This means that the signature now used for stats and inventory, will ONLY be used for players to put up new inventory in the back pack. When the moderator sees the new inventory the character has found or bought, the moderator will transfer that to the profile page. Then the moderator will erase the signature.
This procedure will go on throughout the game.
This rule also apply when character lose inventory! (drop, use, sell etc) The player makes a note in the signature. The moderator transfers to profile page and erases the signature.
IMPORTANT! Make sure to specify what is found/bought and what is droped/used/sold!!!

10 : PLOT RULE
This game is set in the Keepers of the Peace fanfic universe - events, plots, and character backgrounds must fit in this setting completely. If you aren't if something you have in mind will fit, then PM me. Offending posts will be edited or removed.
Keeoers of the Peace episodes can be found at : http://www.farscaperealm.com/kotp_home.html
10a : START LOCATIONS / ALLEGIANCES
The 1st Deep Space Irregulars (aka Harrigan's Heroes) cannot be joined by a starting player, nor will the Cry Havoc be a possible start location at any time. A player will have to hve been playing for some time and their character judged (by me, the writer/creator of Harrigan's Heroes) to be a useful addition to the unit as they might end up in further fanfic (should any be written) before they will be allowed to join.

11 : PORT/STARBOARD
For directional navigation in the RPG, 'treblin' is considered to be the left side relative to the direction of travel, and 'hammond' is the right side - again relative to the direction of travel.
Course plotting by me is done using a similar system to Star Wars - it's labelled in degrees, but with two sets of numbers. The first one is degrees horizontal (going clockwise) while the second is degrees vertical (going downwards), separated by a "mark". Eg; 000 mark 180 (directly behind you!).
Range is given in metras (considered roughly equal to a metre), denches (inches), or kilometras (miles) - depending on the situation and environment.
