"All warm 'gain... goo-dee." she murmurs.
We both kiss her and pull the fur blanket over her before getting ourselves ready for bed.

By the time Trannak pulls your own furs over the pair of you, Amara is snoring - you look over at her sleep, and she has a smile on her face. Good, she is both happy and tired - she will sleep well and long, plus have a great many stories to tell her friends back on the Havoc as well.

Trannak rests his head on your shoulder and watches her a bit as well.
"Good..." he says softly "She is sleeping and has many happy memories. I don't know about you, love, but I am sleepy as well and I will sleep much better ith you in my arms...".

Trannak laughs. "That could take weekens."

Heasks her about the ests, and she tells him excitedly what the probes looked like. "Prow-bees play hi-dees see-kees with 'Mara an' I fy-nde them an' make them go 'way 'gain!"

When Amara finishes telling him about them, she notices that my eyes are open now, andI have been listening to her talk.
"MAMAAA! You all 'wake now?"
I nod. "All awake... andI am very happy to see my fine husband and my special, beautiful girl right here with me."

I grin and scoop her up from behind as she runs back into the main area of the room.
Amara shrieks and laughs in happy surprise and I call to Trannak "Catch!" before throwing her the safely short distance from me to him.

Trannak catchesher seasmlessly, and Amara's laughter gets happier and louder - especially when Trannak holds her to his chest and does a shoulder roll onto the bed.

"EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! HEEHEEHEEHEEHEEE!!!!!!! MAMA DO THRO-WEES AN' DADA DO RO-LEES WITH HIS 'MARA! HEE HEE HEE!"
Trannak grins and blows a raspberry on Amara's neck before laying on his back pretending to have worn himself out.

I take the chance to admire his body, before I ask "I think you should wake dada up while I check that dada hasn't broken the bed springs."
Trannak opens an eye and grins at me saying "I can think of better ways to break them." before Amara jumps on him and starts tickling.

I gather clothesfor all three of us asI listen to both of them laughing and playing, and know my unborn son will be very loved and very happy happy here with us.

"Very welcome news, Amara" Juroch tells her over her special comm, and in Kalish as well "Thank you. I onder if it will be mealtime when we return?"
Trannak whispers something to her and she squeals and adds "Dada say it ee-ting tyme now, whis-pa Sca-ran! We come down to ga-lee an' ma a an' dada an' 'Mara get ee-tees for you an' oth-a frends!"

Trannak checks the maintenance status on the engineering console.
"Everything's well within tolerances" he tells you "despite the fact we've been running at hetch 11 for quite some time. We'll be fine going to eat with the others, we won;t be needed on the bridge".
Amara takes hold of a hand from each of you and skips happily as the three of you head down through the decks to the galley on deck 4...

Seeing Amara this happy makes me happy too. Clearly Sorfil was correct and those tests, tiring though they were, did not hurt her and have not left her headachy today.

When we reach the galley, everyone is either already there or just arriving. Kesha and Lirak are behind the counter and the wafted scents of stew and other Scarran food is inthe air.

"Goo-dee!" Amara claps. "There foo-dees co-ming."
"Shall we help uncle Lirak and auntie Kesha, love?" I ask her.
"We do that mama!"

He lifts her gently into his arms and smiles.
"Than-kyoo un-cle Li-rak for stoo an' 'Mara ee-ting things. Love you lots, uncle Li-rak.""I love you too Amara." he replies, stroking her ridges and getting a rumble.

"Hungry?" Trannak asks me.
I whisper "Not me... but our baby is."
Trannak's smile broadens wonderfully and it is obvious to me how happy he is.
"Eat up then, my love. Strong and healthy is very good indeed, yes?"
"Yes." I agree.

You feel more hungry, all due to your growing child you're sure, but you just smile and keep eating along with Amara until all your stew is gone. everyone else is similarly hungry - and after the stew is gone and the utensils and pot in the dishwasher, juice disappears with similar thirst and interest as well before everyone just finds a spot to lean back and relax.

I lean back against Trannak's chest, his arms around me and hands clasped over my stomach.
We are watching Amara going from one person to the next, talking with them and telling them all about the tests Sorfil gave her.

She is very, and rightly, proud of herself, but does not really brag. Instead she is enthused about the whole thing and her happy squeals and waving arms are testament to that.
Serila glances across at Trannak and I, and just smiles a little.

I remember being rather awful to her when we met, sure as I was that Trannak would leave me for her - but she has never once interfered, even ifshe may once have wanted to.
