"A daughter?" he asks, excited and amazed "A little girl? Can I see her? Will we get to see her? Will she like us and want to talk to us?" Trannak grins and laughs before telling Eron "When Amara finds a new person it is not so much getting her to talk that is the problem - it is getting her to stop! She is very much like her mother's people in that respect, she will ask questions and be very excitable and want to jump on you and play with you and show you places and things". Eron loves to hear that and talks to General Sarn's son about it, and he grins and sasy "I do wonder what a half-Kalish and half-Scarran child is like, Eron - it'll be interesting to see what things about her are from my people and which are from yours".
While the two young men chaatter and talk, the tea brews - so after a few momens you pour and pass the mugs around. Eron is given energy juice, but drinks that and asks for tea as well, which he gets. Eron talks to Keyah and Juroch while he drinks his tea - Keyah answers his questions warmly, but Juroch smiles and takes an interest and talks to him at some length (even more so when the questions relate to Kalish arts training). "It's good you train as much as you can in that, Eron" Juroch tells him, nodding "It will be useful wherever you go. When you progress further, you can pass your skill on to others, too".
Eron nods before finishing his tea - then he yawns and says "I would like to sleep some more before we arrive at this big ship you live in, captain...I am still a bit tired". You remind him he can call you by name if he wants to, and he nods before saying "I think I just need to realise I can sleep here safely without worrying about the Hierarchy kicking the door in... that is not always a worry at cells I have been to with the General and his son, but at some it has been and it takes me time to readjust afterwards". "Go and sleep, Eron" Juroch tells him "We should only have two or three arns left until we arrive at the Cry Havoc, but make the most of that time. There will be plenty to see when we arrive".
With that settled, everyone returns to their quarters and you and Trannak head for the bridge again. Once you arrive, you load the course set earlier into the navigation computer and lock it in before leaning back in your pilot's chair - I will rest here, beside Trannak in his chair, so I can be ready to make the approach and landing when we arrive. |

"Are you feeling better after your meal? Sated enough for the journey?" I ask Trannak. "Full and sated... and not just from the meal." he tells me, getting a soft laugh from us both. Trannak stretches out his arms and back, letting the bones crack, before he settles back in his chair to rest.
I do likewise, but although my body feels weary, I am not tired. I cannot help but wonder about the visit with Nrakal and whether it means what I hope it does.
My body still feels very slightly odd and it is a feeling I have not had before. If it is pregnancy? How lucky am I to be here in a safe place, with friends. To be able to birth a child safely and not have it taken away. For me to not be given more than a couple of weeken recovery (if I survived) before being placed on the breeding roster again.
I rest my hand on my belly again, hoping that there is the beginning of a life in there. Trannak and Amara will be so happy if there is. Trannak alwayssaid it would happen at the right time, and I escaped the breeding programme before anything happened... and I did not conceive after the rape, so maybe he was right?
Idly, I flick through the system checks, not really looking at them, but just keeping my mind occupied until we are back and Amara isin my arms again.
